The Ramsau network of cross-country tracks covers 220 kilometres, ranging from an altitude of 1,000 meters to 2,700 meters.
The cross-country tracks spiral out from the WM stadium in Ramsau Ort. There are 12 loops over 150 km of classic tracks, of which 50 km are easy, 50 km intermediate, and 50 km difficult. The Rittisloipe track is the longest loop at 21 km. Sonnenloipe, the sunniest loop, is 6 km, and the track most suitable for beginners is the 18-km Standardloipe track.
There are 70 km of sport trails for freestyle cross-country skiing, also heading out from the WM stadium. The original 1999 Nordic World Championships trails have been altered to satisfy every cross-country skier. Enjoy one-way sports trails of 1.5 km, 2 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 7 km. The 10 km Schildlehen and 30 km Dachstein connecting trails have two-way traffic in parts.
With 40 kilometers of alpine skiing, Ramsau has gentle, sunny slopes with drag lifts, making it ideal for beginners and children. For long downhill runs on a well-groomed ski piste, go to Rittisberg, Ramsau’s premier address. It has five multi-ability ski runs, a four-seater chairlift, and the drag lift are all top notch. Catch the first lift for the most amazing downhill runs – and you’ll share them with no one.
Intermediate skiers should head to the Alm for easy-going skiing in stunning scenery – the Adlerlifte around the Türlwand is the best place for a relaxing skiing day. Then venture down the groomed trail back to Ramsau. A couple of mountain restaurants invite you to stop in and on the way. Try their excellent cuisine and, on a sunny day, enjoy the blue skies and beautiful panorama.
Skiing on 2,700 metres! Sporty ski runs and powder slopes.

Ski tours take in the villages around the Dachstein massif – Hallstatt, Obertraun, Ramsau, Gosau, Gröbming, and Filzmoos. Depending on the tour you take, you might cover up to an altitude difference of 2,000 meters, on a tour covering 30 kilometres.
Ski tours also meet at the Ramsau Plateau or leave from the Alm region, and you can tailor your number of ascents and downhill runs to your ability.
Even on less-demanding tours, remember you are in the high alpine, away from groomed, secured ski runs. If you are alone, please join a group. Never leave the signposted routes.
