In summer, the idyllic scenery of Ramsau am Dachstein invites you to go for leisurely strolls, enjoy Nordic walking, or hike through beautiful Alpine pastures. Excitement awaits on the high-rope courses and along the nature trails, in the adventure and leisure parks designed just for children.
All summer at Hotel Kielhuberhof, you can simply relax. Our facilities are there for you.
On a hot summer’s day, take an invigorating swim in our fresh-water swimming pond. The large lawn has shaded escapes and sun-filled loungers, perfect for every type of sunbather.
Play a couple of matches on our two outdoor tennis courts. Actually there are 2 new Red-Courts waiting for you.
Our sports pitch is set up for football, volleyball, and badminton.
Our Dachsteinstube leisure hall has table tennis, billiards, and tabletop football for when the weather isn’t playing nicely.
Take a coffee or tea, a refreshing drink, and a piece of homemade cake on our delightful sun terrace and enjoy the stunning panoramic views.

Hiking in Ramsau am Dachstein and the Schladming Tauern mountains is a natural adventure. There are strolls, walks, and hikes for all levels, making Schldaming Dachstein the ideal place for a perfect hiking summer adventure.
The 80-kilometer network of walking trails on Ramsau plateau journey from 1,000 to 1,700 meters. Set off along well-signposted paths, across forests and sunny meadows, and up to the gorgeous alpine pastures of the Alm region.
The paths across the Alm are family-friendly and suitable for gentle walks. Stop off in a cozy mountain hut to enjoy the views across the alpine pastures to Dachstein’s south faces.
To get to the Dachstein glacier (2,700 meters), Austria’s easternmost glacier, take the Dachstein gondola; it covers 1,000 in eight minutes, making the glacier an easy-to-reach destination for hikes. The views across the Alps from the gondola are impressive, enjoy them from the Skywalk around the top station. On a clear day, you can see the Czech Republic to the north and Slovenia to the south. The Ice Palace with its sculptures is always worth a visit and the exposed suspension bridge with the Stairway to Nothingness is a must!
The Schladminge Tauern have great strolls, trails, and hikes for everyone. Stunning alpine pastures, beautiful scenery, mountain huts with great food, and crystal-clear mountain lakes, all along easy paths.
Explore the many via ferratas in the Dachstein mountains. Here’s a selection:
Straight through the Dachstein south face to the Dachsteinwarte hut. Difficulty level: D/E.
Edelgrieß to Gruberscharte, across the ridge. Difficulty level: A/B to B, in parts B/C to C, very exposed.
Close to the Dachstein gondola. Difficulty level: B to C, in parts C/D and D, very exposed.
Along the Eselstein south ridge to its top. Difficulty level: C to D, in between A and B.
Close to the Hunerscharte underneath the glacier gondola top station. Difficulty level: very difficult. Many passages D/E and longer parts D, barely any easier. In its middle part, very exposed, very demanding.
A simple walk with an easy-to-reach summit and almost completely secured west ridge. Beautiful panoramic mountain. Difficulty level: A and A/B, some passages B.
The top of the Hoher Dachsteins can be reached via three via ferratas. From the east: Shoulder (B, 2 hours). North: Randkluft (B, 1 hour). West: west ridge (A/B, 1,5 hours). Difficulty level: A/B to B.
Easy via ferrata with gorgeous views across the glacier. Difficulty level: A/B to B.
The easiest, but most strenuous climbing path. A possibility to get to the glacier by foot. Difficulty level: A/B to B.
Short but demanding climbing path in Silberkar Gorge close to the Silberkar Hut. Difficulty level: C to D, very exposed.
In Ramsau am Dachstein and in the Schladming Tauern, there are many signposted MTB and cycling routes for all levels. Whether you cycle along the Enns River or you choose a tour up to the mountains, there is something for everyone.
Nordic walking done the right way trains your muscles, releases physical tension, helps reduce stress and increases your well-being.
Nordic walking is the summer training method for the world’s cross-country-skiing elite. Fit & Fun Institute in Ramsau offers classes for beginners and advanced.
The closest golf course is only six kilometers away, the Dachstein-Tauern Golf & Country Club, designed by Bernhard Langer. There are four more golf courses within 40 kilometers.
Ramsau’s many riding stables offer beginner and advanced sessions as well as hacks for experts.
Rittisberg has new high-ropes courses with an improved, easier-to-use safety system: clip in once and be safe for the entire course.
Paragliding for flyers. With Ramsau paragliding school Aufwind, you can go for it alone (if you’re trained), have lessons or just enjoy a trial class.

The Dachstein glacier is open all summer for the Skywalk, the Ice Palace, and the suspension bridge with the Stairway to Nothingness. You can even ski until May and start again in September, when the conditions are right.
